Freshers week entertainment...

We have designed a Quick Start Guide to the college that can be downloaded here.

It hardly seems a year ago since we were greeting last year's Freshers but the best part of my job has arrived once more: greeting another group of new Furnessians who have been lucky enough to join the best College on campus.

This year we have colour-coded the blocks including the virtual block, Lowick, 'home' to our off-campus students.

Furness Graduation Day 2010 is on Wednesday 14th July at 4.30pm.

Lining up will take place at 3.30pm

Events in the College will be advertised over the Easter Break.

Whilst the College experience is as much social as academic the ultimate aim of the University experience is to read towards a degree and it is great to see how our students have developed throughout their time here and I hope that they all leave with fond memories of Furness and remember that they [and all of our alumni] are always welcome back.

The next group of College Fellows will be announced soon. A ceremony will be arranged and the date will be announced soon.

These are people whom the Syndicate of the College wishes to recognise for outstanding contributions to the College, the University and/or the wider community either as students or staff over a number of years.

If you would like to nominate someone as a fellow, send details of the person and the reason you wish to nominate them to 'furness (AT) lancaster.ac.uk'
