Support Services for students:

Their College Tutor - that’s you!!
Student Support Office: provides specialist and general guidance for students with serious difficulties which cannot be resolved by their college or academic departments (based in Univerisity House) tel. 92010;

The University Counselling Service: open 5 days a week for appointments with one of eight Counsellors (based in Furness College) tel. 92690;
CEEC: for careers advice may be used throughout a student’s time at Lancaster and is situated in Alexandra Square Lodge opposite the Chaplaincy Centre: tel. 92480;

The Chaplaincy Centre: a multifaith environment providing another route of welfare, advice and often, practical support from the various Chaplains, and members of different faith based communities: www.chaplancs.org.uk tel. 94071. At the Chaplaincy there is an alternative and complementary health care service with discounted rates for students

Nightline: a friendly voice at the end of the phone run from 10pm to 8am as well as drop in centre run by the students for the students at the Student’s Union tel. 94444;

University Health Centre: a GP practice at Bailrigg with a nurse on duty night and day.There is also a Psychiatric Nurse available. tel. 94130.

Nurse Unit : located in the Reception Lodge is a confidential, non judgemental, easily accessible service open 24 hours during term time tel. 94737

Student Advisory Service: The Student’s Union does many things, from providing sporting and social activities to shops and entertainment, but they are also there to represent all students. The Union is independent of the University administration and has professional staff who can also provide with up to date impartial information tel. 93765. The Union is particularly helpful to students on legal matters, accommodation and students’ rights.
