First let me congratulate you on choosing the best College on Campus. I am pleased to welcome you to Furness and we hope that you have a great and productive time here.

For your Intro Week the College and JCR have a variety of social events planned for you to take part in if you wish, and there are also some ‘must attend’ events put on by the University. Our Intro Week planner shows all the College events, and the ‘must attend’ items are shown in italics. There will be a Freshers Black Tie Tutorial Dinner/Disco in week three, at the Carlton in Morecambe. Again details are on this website. Tickets for this event will be on a first come first served basis as ticket numbers are limited. The cost for this event will be confirmed shortly but will include a three course sit down dinner, disco and transport to and from the event. This should be paid for prior to arrival (details below) and the tickets can be collected from Bev in the College Office on Monday 25th October.

Prior to arrival, please read the College Handbook, which can also be found on this Web site. Please note that the College orientation session will take place at 7.00pm on Saturday, 2nd October 2010. Your Kitchen Rep will show you the way. Off Campus students will be taken to the orientation session directly after their registration in the College.

All students MUST join a college and the Membership Fee is £30. This is a one off payment. On arrival you will be asked to sign a Membership Agreement and once this has been done and your payment has been checked, your Membership Card will be given by Bev.

The College Membership and Dinner should be paid for online. From the University website go to http://www.lancs.ac.uk/ and then ‘Online Payments’ then ‘Online Store’, you will be asked for a College Code at payment. The College Code for Furness is RUFNES.
