Welcome to the Furness College website.

Always an eccentric and close community, Furness is renowned for its easy going and inclusive outlook popular with students and staff alike. It helps that we are one of the smallest Colleges at Lancaster as you should get to know more of the Furness population, where larger communities can be all too anonymous. It is said we are the 'Gryfindor' of the University, in that everyone secretly wants to be a Furnessian!

In the spirit of eccentricity, our bar is called Trevor (there's a story there somewhere...) one of the few bars to still have real ale. A real ale and cider festival is held each December and is a highlight of the Michaelmas term, and not to be missed.

College identity and loyalty is something that extends beyond graduation and we shall be adding new features for Alumni, beginning with an introduction to our College Fellows.

I hope you enjoy visiting the College's site although its no substitute for visiting and experiencing the college in person!
